However, instead of 'ADD', they said 'SAVE'.

Researching this, it apparently means that the movie has not yet been released yet on DVD. (?)

However, after some looking around, the movies I want have been on DVD for at least 5 years.

WHAT DOES THAT MEAN!?

Does it mean it's just not available at all? Or what?

I'm borderline about to go to my mom's and steal her VCR and my old VHS tapes to watch these damn movies!

I continuously want to punch myself in the face.

I've been picking up some young adult sci-fi/fantasy books that were New York Times Bestsellers, but apparently that doesn't mean that the book is actually -good-. I guess I'm under the impression that a book is going to be good because it was popular.

I'm almost to the end of 'Wicked Lovely'. It has an interesting premise, but it's just lacking somewhere. I've read almost the whole book and I still have no idea what the main character looks like. I think she has black hair and pale skin, but after glancing through the first few chapters, I don't see any description. Is it even in there? Did I miss something?

I think I'm having trouble picturing people and places because there's only dialog and faeries. The descriptions of characters are very vague and in the end, I just can't picture them.

Twilight is the same, it's a good idea, I just wish it was executed better.

Every time I read these disappointing books, I feel like I could do so much better.

Anyone have any suggestions for GOOD sci-fi/fantasy I should hit up?

Me =/= Wireless

Woe is me

The wireless on my main PC has died. The light is on, but it no longer can detect other wireless networks. Even if I manage to coax it to, it won't actually connect to the network. Now it lived a good life, I installed it in spring of '05 and since then, it's been working nonstop. A ridiculous amount of data has gone through this cheap little wireless card, and I guess I'm surprised it has lasted as long as it has.

Though the idea of not having internet on my main PC? DEVASTATING. Not being able to do simple things like transfer files from netbook to PC over wireless? ZOMG. I can't update my iPod apps or get on FFXI!

I've got three options:

1. Buy a new wireless card
-Not really feasible since I plan on getting a new PC soon. It'd be a waste of money and effort.
2. Run a network cable across the living room to my desk
-Temporary fix. It'd be ugly and a potential trip hazard. But would get me through until I...
3. Buy a new PC
-I wasn't planning on getting a new PC until late October. I'd need something to get me by D: Was planning on getting/having Tim put together a decent workhorse, so I can play MMOs and other games on it.

I do my internetting on my laptops, but my desk is like my place of awesomeness and stores all my stuff.
So, while on the way to Outer Banks, Tim and I stopped at a Subway to grab some lunch. We were eating in the car when some lady in her Nascar F150 next to us opens the door right into my car, hard. I look at her and she's looking at the side of my car. She doesn't get out to talk to me or make an attempt to apologize.

I freaked out and had a panic attack, afraid of confrontation. It took a few minutes for Tim to calm me down. I backed up the car to get her license place number, then moved to another spot (not next to her) so we could get out and see if it left a mark. This all took about 5 minutes or less. Checked, went to go walk over to her car...

Woman drives off.

I had gotten her plate number, so we call the local Sheriff, they come out and do an incident report. The damage is minor. Some chipped paint, a dent, and a scuff mark. It's not huge, but it's certainly noticable. The sheriff(s) were very nice and we chatted for a bit.

So we do our vacation thing, come back, they appraise the damage (like $400 to fix it). My therapist also told me that i shouldn't worry about it, because the worry causes the anxiety attacks, and if it's not a big deal, don't make it one. I talk to the insurance lady... I said it was minor, my car was older, it already had a few dents and scratches from the years, and I wasn't interested in pursuing the claim any further.

Then my insurance told me what the other party had said.

The woman told my insurance/the sheriff that she had NOT hit my car, and sat there for a half hour (yes, 30 minutes) after she got into the vehicle. Which Tim and I know is bull.

Ugh, why would I go through all the trouble of calling the sheriff, doing an incident report, and filing a claim if she hadn't done it/drove off. I'd have much rather immediately gone on my merry way to the beach than 'terrorize' some dumb redneck.

I'm pretty livid about that. I'm at fault for not immediately getting out of the car and confronting her. But she knows what she did.

Ok I'm done ranting

So I got an Acer AspireOne for my birthday. It's really cute, conveniently small, and has incredible battery life. Just what I wanted. Only downside is that it may take a little while to get used to the smaller keyboard. Mine came with extra stuff, like a USB optical drive, wireless mouse, and a protective bag.

My mom is going to be getting one too, so I'm really excited to teach her how to use it.

It's weird putzing around on this thing, and then getting in front of a regular sized monitor. x.x

Funny thing is this tiny thing has more memory and disk space than my desktop.

So we went to two dealers in the area, one was a Kawasaki/Suzuki dealer, the other a Yamaha/Honda dealer.

At the Kawasaki/Suzuki dealership, we asked about Ninja 250Rs, and the sales guy kinda laughed at us. Said 250Rs were very popular and hard to come by. They usually sell out within weeks after production, so if I wanted one, I'd have to come back next March and pray. He also said it probably wouldn't be enough power for me and I would quickly want a more powerful bike. He explained I could get twice the bike (a Ninja 500R) for only $2k more. Also explained that I would have to get whatever bike I buy lowered due to my height.

He could get me the 500R out the door for $6200, which is more than I budgeted for. I don't like the way it looks compared to the 250R (and even the 650R). It just looks... off. Not sleek at all. So I think that's out. I'm not going to spend that much on a bike I don't absolutely love.

I forgot to look at the Suzuki's D:

Looking at all the bikes there was a little intimidating. They all look so big and heavy! It's different look at them in person as opposed to online.

Went to the Yamaha dealer and asked about starter bikes. The starter bike they recommended was ridiculous (the FZ6R, 600cc!). It was pretty though, white with black and purple design. It was big and also above my budget.

Hondas were nice but way above what I could afford, lol. The small ones ran about $10k from what I could see.

Got to try on some full face helmets and found a comfortable size for me (Extra small!). One of the dealers had pink gear (which of course I secretly want).

So after this little trip, I've solidified my plan a little more.

1. Learn manual with Tim when he gets the truck around the 1st of August.
2. Take motorcycle class
3. BE PATIENT
4. Keep an eye out on craigslist for a good deal on a used bike.*

*I've decided that I don't want something brand new. It would suck to spend a ton of money on a shiny new bike, and then drop it right away. That'd be pretty devastating. I want something for about $2k that I can get comfortable on, and then if I want something new, I'll figure it out from there.

I might pay a little more if the color/model/mileage is good, but $2500 would probably be my max.

Right now the bikes on CL are all yellows, oranges, and greens (ick). I'd prefer pretty much anything else; black, red, blue, white.

I also might wait until next spring to get a bike, as it would kinda suck to buy one in say, November, and decide that it's too cold to ride around D: But if I find a great deal, that won't matter. I need to stay away from CL for a little while though, because I keep seeing stuff I could potentially get, and I'm obviously not ready.

I learned a lot this weekend! I'm excited!

Just packed up a bunch of stuff in his truck and drove off. He was in construction, so it wouldn't surprised me if he'd been laid off.

Now it looks like the service team is clearing out the apartment for new tenants, and I'm seeing that the guy didn't leave with as much stuff as I thought, only what he could carry. So far they've removed a mattress/box spring, and now they're loading up a HUGE friggin' big screen projection tv. Wonder what they're going to do with it. Probably sell it or something, to get the money they lost in from the guy.

Just after they loaded it onto the trailer

Guy had to get out and walk with it because it kept sliding and almost falling off.

EDIT: Lol the guy just brought a 5 of Master Hide into the apartment. This size is good for my mid afternoon snack. I usually eat lunch before work and dinner once I get home, but this is nice to ease any hunger during work. And it's really satisfying to eat

It only takes a few minutes to make in the morning/afternoon. And I also get a little snack eating the leftovers from the shaped food, lol.

I bought a Cinnamoroll 'lunch box' off of Sanrio.com last week, and I made a little bento for lunch. Heart and flower shaped ham/pepper jack/lettuce sammiches, and some chocolate mousse yogurt. It's teeny, so I have little room to work with, but it makes for a nice small meal. It's funny comparing large American lunch boxes to Japanese. But they say typically the size of the bento is the caloric intake of the meal, so a 360ml bento holds about a 360 calorie meal.

Now I'm putting together little healthy lunch ideas, like fruit salad and yogurt, turkey with cheese and hummus, etc. etc.

The yogurt looks like poop.

I've had an overwhelming urge to game lately. And not just one game, but like, a million.

There are so many games I have that I haven't beaten or hardly started. And now I want to get back into it. Tim just started playing Star Wars Galaxies (again), and it makes me want to get back into FFXI. Then there are a bunch of 360 and PS2 games I have to beat, it's really overwhelming that I just sit down and don't play them, lol.

I saw videos from the demo of FFXIII and damn I want to play it. And to sate my urge to play that, I want to play FFXII, which I haven't really even touched since I got it.

I'm still playing The World Ends With You, and I have 3000 more ESP'er points before I have an all star rating. Besides that, I have all the items and all the pins, and a decent final attack time. Now I've had this game on for 321 hours, you'd think I be tired of it. And I have all these other DS games that I haven't even touched :(

Man, gaming is like a second job! D:

Went to the doctor week before last. He says it's most likely psoriatic arthritis judging by the look of my fingernails. But they still don't know. So I'm stuck with another three months of Voltaren and another three months of not figuring anything out.

Tim and I then went to D.C. for the cherry blossoms just in time for the peak. It was a little dreary out, but I think I prefer that more, because it's waaaay less crowded when the weather is a bit grey. Tim is so awesomely awesome On the way home, I tried Chipotle for the first time, it was ok, I think next time I'd do things differently.

spyderdan43 stopped by on his way home from visiting friends and we ate much Olive Garden and comparing iPhones. Om nom nom nom.

Got my tax return. Put half of it into savings, the rest I'm using to pay off my credit card and buy a new purse. It's ordered, now to wait impatiently for it.

Had a good easter, I'm enjoying a strong impromptu strawberry daquiri that Tim made me. I'm tired but not ready to sleep. Ikea tomorrow to get me another bookshelf (#4!) since Tim and I both have off.

I think with my iphone and twitter at my disposal, I'm going to take more pictures of day to day life to share with people.

Tonight's Intervention hit really close to home....

It was a girl who was pretty successful in life, but then was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis and her life screeched to a halt and she became addicted to pain pills for the chronic pain. Her husband who was all "I'll help you through this" eventually left her, she couldn't be there for her twin's wedding, or her nephew's birth.

I know exactly what she was going through :( And it was difficult to watch because even though they could give her treatment to get off the amounts of pain meds, that pain is still going to be there, and it'll never go away. I knew exactly what it felt like for her when she couldn't step off a curb or open a door.

Now, I'm not addicted to pain pills, and the muscle relaxers actually make me hurt more. However, I can't miss a dose of voltaren or I'm screwed.

I'm so thankful that I'm getting better, or at least, I think I am. I'm not quite to the point that Brooke was.
